Do you really care what every blogger, stylist, fashionista, and pop culture enthusiast thought about last night’s Golden Globes red carpet fashion? Which dresses were their favorites? Probably not. The day after the awards, there are endless posts of compiled lists of the night’s hits and misses. Most of these lists copied and pasted from either People or Vanity Fair. Even though there is nothing I love more then critiquing and judging these perfect stars, to avoid clutter, and giving you my yawn-worthy list, I am going to take this on a different route. Last nights carpet did not disappoint. Watching all the stars arrive in dresses I can never afford, nor have an opportunity to ever wear, did depress me a little. My life is far from a red carpet, and those magnificent dresses are the cost of my rent. However, it did not stop me from wanting to channel my favorite trends I saw on the carpet into my every day style. So I wiped the drool from my mouth, dried my eyes from George’s speech (Yes, We’re on first name basis) and created this list.
Trends on the Golden Globe’s red carpet incorporated into your daily style.
1 – 3D metal embellished dresses
This trend was all over the red carpet. Stars really wowed in these heavy armor looking embellished dresses, or in Emma Stone’s case, pantsuit.
Channel this trend into your wardrobe;
2 – White evening gloves
Amal gets her own topic, because the speech given by the former world’s most eligible bachelor, George Clooney, now renamed the world’s most eloquent husband, stole the night. It made me want to A. Get my husband to memorize that speech and recite it to me B. Go buy evening gloves and never take them off. Love that she brought back such a classic and timeless look.
Bring this into your every day wardrobe:
3 – Snake Necklace
We saw this on Kate Beckinsale at the AMAs, and we’re seeing it again here on Naomi Watts. I equally loved this necklace on both of them, which means it is time for me to get some snake jewelry in my life.
4 – White
Stark white is my favorite color. There is nothing more elegant than an all white ensemble, and it seems Kate Hudson, Emily Blunt and Rosamund Pike agree.
Steal this look by wearing all winter white like these:
