We shot this post a while ago, but in the interim decided to get a puppy. For more reasons than one, the puppy has now found a new home and I am back to business.

The LBD is timeless, a closet staple, a must have. With fashion always in a state of change, and our pay checks leaving our accounts faster than they are coming in, the LBD is about the only thing that remains constant. It will never go out of style, it is always appropriate to wear, and with it’s million different ways to wear it, outfit repeating is acceptable.

When in doubt wear a a little black dress. You will always look good, never be overdressed, and never be underdressed. If you are like me however, and tend to resist the easiness and simplicity of the LBD, almost making it foe, choose LBDs with lots of detail or pair it with sparkly flair or pops of colors.

This Thomas Wilde version is a little pricey. If you are not looking to splurge, I attached five of my favorite little black dresses here that are on the more affordable side.
